History of rockets

Intro: Given a choice in picking which aerospace invention or innovation to research, I chose Rockets. I will now tell you the history behind them and whatnot.
1. When and where was the aerospace invention invented and further developed?
Rockets were first invented around 1100 AD in China. The Chinese had invented a simple form of gunpowder and filled hollow tubes of bamboo with it in an attempt to make explosions during festivals. To test this they threw the tubes into fire. Eventually, they attached these tubes to arrows and discovered that they could launch themselves using the escaping gas from the tubes. The first true rockets were reportedly used in 1232 during a war between the Chinese and the Mongols. The Chinese used "arrows of fire" to repel the Mongol invaders. After that battle, the Mongols produced rockets of their own and spread rockets to Europe.
2. Who were the people that made significant contributions to the original invention and the development of the technology? How did they work, individually, in teams, or with other countries?
There are a number of people that made contributions to the rocket, all fairly important. However, I feel that the soonest important contribution to the rocket was in the 16th century when Johann Schmidlap, a German fireworks maker, invented the "step rocket." This multi-staged vehicle lifted fireworks to higher altitudes by carrying a smaller sky rocket inside of a larger one. When the large one burned out, the smaller one continued to a higher altitude before bursting. This is the basic idea to all rockets that go into outer space.
3. What advantages does this invention offer compared to other forms of flight?
Rockets are the only thing capable of reaching outer space and surviving the vacuum of space. Rockets are the only way that we will be able to explore space (for now). Rockets have also helped other forms of flight reach great speeds.
4. What are the disadvantages of this invention compared to other forms of flight?
The only disadvantage that I can think of is that they partially aren't reusable.
5. How has the invention changed since it was first introduced?
Rockets have become more advanced through technology. Ro
6. How, shown through a timeline, has the invention changed from its original form to its present form? Be sure to list the major milestones and events during its history.
7. How, using photos and drawings, has the invention evolved?
8. Through your own prediction, how do you think the invention may change in the future?
